Evolution...
From the foundation of LPE Medical more than two years ago, the company has become a leading provider of innovative manufacturing solutions and a reliable subcontract partner to the orthopaedic medical device business sector. In a relatively short period of time, LPE Medical has developed a reputation for the highest standards in manufacturing, engineering support, quality compliance and technical expertise.
LPE Medical was established by a team of Engineering professionals who, after the relocation of a major orthopaedic manufacturing organisation, seized the opportunity to continue the manufacture of orthopaedic medical devices in the New Forest area and effectively become a ‘one stop’ shop for the supply of reconstructive medical devices.
Utilising the employee skills and knowledge gained from an industry with its roots in the local area for more than 30 years, the team secured financial backing from the Fullers Group of companies, a large well established local manufacturing organisation with its origins in the heart of the New Forest. Coupled with the skills, experience, commitment and dedication of all its employees, LPE Medical has achieved significant growth since establishment with a 300% growth in turnover in the second year of trading and a projected compound growth of 65% in year three.
People...
Due to the phenomenal success of LPE Medical, the company has grown from a head count of just three people in its formation to a head count of twenty people in less than three years, encompassing disciplines such as Manufacturing / Production, Quality, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing, Technical Consultancy and Administrative support. In total, the people at LPE Medical have over 200 years combined experience within the orthopaedic business sector.
In LPE Medical’s ‘engine room’ is Mike Harvey. Mike is responsible for Manufacturing and Production control and, along with his experienced production team, who are fully conversant with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), are responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met and often exceeded with respect to product quality and delivery. In addition, together with the customer, Mike also provides invaluable input into the early stages of the development of new products contributing to our philosophy of concurrent engineering and continuous process improvement. Mike was one of the original three members who formed LPE Medical and possesses over twenty six years Manufacturing and Production Engineering experience within the Aerospace, Automotive and Medical business sectors, with over half of those being spent specifically within the orthopaedic manufacturing sector with Johnson & Johnson.
As a provider of technical support to our customers and to aid in the development of new products, including ‘customs’, LPE Medical have technical consultancy personnel whose experience spans over forty five years in Engineering and over sixteen years within the orthopaedic industry. Utilising this resource, along with our CAD capabilities, LPE Medical are able to provide technical support for new and existing products, including a technical authorship service.
More recently, the organisation has been further strengthened with the
appointment of Marcus Daniels to the position of General Manager. A ‘time served’ and professionally qualified Engineer, Marcus has more than twenty years Manufacturing / Production and Research and Development experience within major ‘Blue Chip’ companies in the Aerospace, Automotive, Semi-Conductor and Medical Device Industry business sectors. The latter being with Johnson & Johnson Orthopaedics.
