The Finsbury Type C Stem (FTC™)

The FTC femoral implant is based on the well proven design principles established as long ago as 1986 of a fully hydroxyapitate (HA) coated and proximally flared Titanium stem.

The product range is designed to provide the surgeon with the optimal anatomical fit for each patient. Since the introduction of the FTC design concept over twenty years ago, well over 100,000 stems have been successfully implanted.

The grooves around the FTC femoral stem increase the surface area of HA exposed to the surrounding tissue, increasing the opportunity for intimate bone on-growth.

Ultimately the contoured surface of the implant is designed to be filled with healthy, viable bone to securely lock the implant in position. HA is a natural building block for bone and its osteo-conductive properties create the opportunity for new bone growth providing secure secondary fixation.

By combining the FTC stem with the ADEPT bearing surface Finsbury offers a complete solution to total hip arthroplasty.
