STEPS Prosthetics celebrated the launch of its new Outpatient Clinic at the Manchester Institute of Health (MIHP) on Thursday 16th October 2025.
The event marked an important stage in making high-quality, personalised prosthetic and specialist amputee physiotherapy care more accessible in the North of England. Guests from across the prosthetics and rehabilitation sector were given a tour of the facility, which includes a state-of-the-art physiotherapy gym, indoor football pitch, hydrotherapy pools, diagnostic and imaging services, and modern clinic rooms.
The Manchester outpatient clinic, which opened earlier this year, operates within MIHP – one of the UK’s leading healthcare and performance centres run by Nuffield Health. Offering access to advanced rehabilitation facilities and cutting-edge technology, the clinic provides clients with a modern, client-focused environment for prosthetic and physiotherapy support.
Peter Durkin, Co-Founder and Prosthetist/Orthotist at STEPS Prosthetics, said: “We’re thrilled to bring our services to Manchester and to be working within such an exceptional facility. This new clinic allows us to support clients across the North West with convenient access to the same high-quality care we’re known for in Sheffield and Gateshead.”
STEPS Prosthetics delivers a full range of outpatient services through its dedicated team of specialists, including prosthetics, orthotics, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. The Manchester clinic compliments the existing sites on Sheffield and Gateshead, to ensure clients can benefit from continued care beyond the initial prosthetics fitting process and early rehabilitation.
