OTWorld 2026: Anniversary campaign “50 years – 50 voices” gives patients worldwide a voice

To mark the 50th anniversary of OTWorld, the international campaign “50 years – 50 voices” is being launched.

The focus is on people from all over the world whose lives have been significantly impacted by modern assistive devices. In personal video contributions, they talk about how these devices have changed their everyday lives and improved their quality of life.

Personal stories, global impact

The campaign is part of OTWorld 2026, the world’s largest event for professionals in the industry. We are looking for at least 50 voices – people who will share in a short video how assistive technology has impacted their independence, mobility, or participation in society. The videos will highlight the impact of modern assistive technology and help create greater understanding of the challenges and successes of everyday life with assistive technology.

Campaign launch with para-athlete Sophie Loubet

To mark the official launch of the campaign, the first pilot clip featuring French para-athlete Sophie Loubet will be published on OTWorld’s social media channels.

Osteosarcoma changed her life fundamentally: in 2019, her right leg had to be amputated due to a malignant bone tumor. The fact that she is now active in sports again and proudly shows off her prosthesis was unimaginable for her at the time. Modern assistive devices have changed everything for her.

“Sport meant everything to me and was a big part of my life. Being able to do it again was the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Other voices: Kathrin Rammin and John McFall

In addition to Sophie Loubet, Kathrin Rammin, who lives with lymphedema, and John McFall, ESA astronaut and competitive athlete with a leg amputation, are also lending their faces to the campaign. John McFall lost a leg in a motorcycle accident and in 2022 became the first person with a physical disability to be selected for the European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut programme.

The clips featuring Kathrin Rammin and John McFall are available on the campaign website.

Presentation at OTWorld 2026

The contributions will be presented as part of the anniversary campaign for OTWorld 2026, the World Congress and leading International Trade Show for modern treatment and care, including on social media, the OTWorld website, and at the opening event. The campaign has an international focus and will be implemented in English. However, videos can also be submitted in the respective native language.
