IODA is establishing its first European Committee and is seeking expressions of interest from members based in Europe who would like to be involved.
The European Committee will ensure the sustainable and long-term impact of IODA’s work across Europe. The Committee will play a key role in expanding and strengthening IODA’s European network by:
- Building and maintaining collaborations with European organisations
- Expanding IODA representation across Europe
- Recruiting allies and charter signatories
- Mapping key individuals, leaders, and organisations to identify gaps and opportunities
- Supporting engagement initiatives, including events and digital platforms
- Strengthening regional connections.
The Committee will also contribute to the development of a yearly European strategy and work plan, with progress shared at the IODA Annual Member Meeting.
IODA is seeking four committee members at different career stages, including one trainee representative. Applicants are encouraged to bring their own ideas and indicate how they would like to contribute – whether through network development, events, communications, or other areas aligned with IODA’s mission. Roles will be shaped based on the skills and interests of selected candidates.
Committee members will:
- Serve a one-year term (with the possibility of extension)
- Participate in 8–10 online meetings per year
- Collaborate with a diverse, international group of colleagues.
IODA is committed to appointing a diverse group of members in terms of geography, experience, and background.
Please send your expression of interest (250 words or less), outlining your motivation and proposed contribution, along with your CV to info@orthopaedicdiversity.org by Monday 8 June 2026.
IODA membership is a prerequisite for a committee role. Membership is free and all are welcome to join via the IODA website.
