- It will teach you about neck of femur fractures and how to treat them. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
• Describe the blood supply of the femoral head
• Understand the difference between extracapsular and intracapsular fractures
• Choose the right fixation technique for each type of fracture
• Explain the biomechanics of different fixation methods
• Understand the evidence base for choosing between different fixation methods
• Perform a simulated dynamic hip screw fixation and a simulated cemented hip hemiarthroplasty under supervision
