The Synthes Hand System provides implants and instruments specifically designed for fractures, replantations and reconstruction of the hand.
It is a complete modular hand system with a wide choice of anatomically pre-contoured plates for fracture fixation and the treatment of osteotomies. The plates offer a cut-to-length feature to minimize inventory. It is part of the Synthes Locking Compression Plate (LCP) system.
The modules are available in five sizes, 1.0, 1.3, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.4 mm. Together they cover a wide range of indications including fractures of the phalanges and metacarpals. Modules 2.0 and 2.4 are available as angularly stable LCP implants. All the implants are low profile and soft tissue friendly. The modules and size specific instruments are colour coded for easy recognition.
Thanks to the angular stability provided be the plate-screw connection, better clinical results can be obtained in patients with metaphyseal fractures, comminuted fractures and osteoporotic bone.
