The Mayday arthrodesis nail is a two component intramedullary device designed for arthrodesis of the knee, where both components are inserted through a single knee incision and locked by a single AP locking pin to achieve a solid nail. The tibial component is locked with the aid of a jig, whilst the femoral component design assists a rotational stable implant. Early patient weight-bearing facilitates joint compression and early arthrodesis.

White et al (JBJS vol. 85-B No. 1, January 2003) reported 100% union at a mean time of 10 months, with no complications, concluding that this intramedullary nail gives excellent stability allowing early weight-bearing.

Each nail is custom manufactured from standard design principles and, therefore leadtime is relatively short.
