FlowerCube: new plating set and instruments for complex distal radius fractures
Following the success of its FlowerCube concept, Flower Orthopedics has released a new anatomic distal radius FlowerCube to complement its upper extremity product portfolio. The Distal Radius FlowerCube contains the requisite implants and instruments for the procedure, delivered ‘ready-for-surgery’, eliminating preoperative, on-site sterilisation. The plating set and instruments are designed to address complex distal radius fracture patterns.
“The anatomic distal radius plates and the new disposable instruments represent the latest evolution of the FlowerCube concept and provide an economic, efficient and versatile solution for treatment of distal radius fractures. The versatility of the plating system combined with the benefits of the Flower ready-for-surgery concept increase the efficiency of operative distal radius fracture management,” said Timothy Niacaris, chief of hand surgery at the JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas.
“We believe that the new Distal Radius FlowerCube is ideal for both high volume hospitals and cost-conscious surgery centres alike. While the plating set has been extremely well received by orthopaedic surgeons, it is our standardised disposable instrumentation and the ready-for-surgery concept that really bring concrete, quantifiable value for our customers,” added Oliver Burckhardt, CEO of Flower Orthopedics.
The Flower Anatomic Distal Radius plating set is intended for use for internal fixations and reconstructions, including compression fractures, intra- and extra-articular fractures, displaced fractures, osteotomies, non-unions and mal-unions. The system can be used for palmar, ventral, dorsal or orthogonal application.
