22–26 August 2016, FORTE Summer School, Portugal

FORTE Summer School is a new event for orthopaedic trainees

The FORTE Summer School is an exciting new event. It is the first in Europe for orthopaedic trainees. The school, which is scheduled to be held 22–26 August in Faro, Portugal, will provide two different review courses at the same time. One, which is the General Comprehensive Review Course, is for younger trainees and the other, which is the Exam Preparation Course, is for trainees who are preparing for their board exams.

This event is unique because it will join the major European subspecialty and national societies together in one place. It will not only be a learning experience, but a great opportunity for attendees to network and connect.

Education in Orthopaedics and Trauma demands a high level of technical skills, thus the importance of surgical training. Knowledge is the basis for a proper use of skills. Residency is a hectic period with a lot of solicitations, reports and on-call shifts: therefore, finding time for proper planning and studying may become a challenging task. FORTE believes that a combination of 2 simultaneous review courses for trainees in different levels of progression, combined with time for studying, exciting social activities, promoting networking between experts and young generation, informal dinner sessions, paper presentations would be the perfect setting for learning, presenting, connecting and enjoy a relaxing time in a beautiful location.
