Content: The first in a series of study days covering the initial assessment and management of hand and wrist pathologies. Each topic will start with a more formal presentation then continue with an informal interactive discussion session. Each study day will aim to cover common pathologies in some depth including relevant injection techniques/splints etc., a rarer pathology, hand trauma (things not to miss) and end with case discussions for which delegates are encouraged to bring any cases they wish to discuss.
Faculty will comprise Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons from the Hand Unit at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.
This first study day aims to cover:
· Progressive compression neuropathy of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome)
· Ulnar sided wrist pain and ulnar impaction
· Mallet Fingers and Scaphoids
