Q: When was OsteoTec Ltd. set up?
A: OsteoTec was set up in 1993 and is an independently owned UK company based in Christchurch, Dorset. We now employ a team of 18 in sales and customer service.
Q: What areas does OsteoTec work in within orthopaedics?
A: Since it’s inception, OsteoTec has worked primarily in the areas of upper limb and foot surgery. By working on an exclusive basis with some of the world’s leading companies in these relatively niche areas, we have been able to offer ‘World class products and world class service’.
Q: What do you see as the biggest challenges facing OsteoTec?
A: As with most healthcare companies, the changing NHS market requires continual evolution of the company.
As Osteotec continues to grow, our systems and resources need continual review to ensure further improvement in the service we offer our customers.
Q: What direction will OsteoTec be moving in the future?
A: We will continue to grow our distributor business with existing and some new products. The recent appointment of OsteoTec as the exclusive UK distributor for Medical Vision arthroscopy fluid management systems, takes us into a new area.
With ISO9001:2000 and ISO13485:2003 registration, we demonstrate our commitment to delivering a quality service. This also allows us to develop our own product range.
Working with some leading UK surgeons, we already have the OsteoTec Silicone Finger Implant and the Ulna Cutting Guides on the market and will be introducing a range of innovative products, complimentary to our existing range in the future months and years. Our R&D Manager, Paul Knox, would be pleased to hear any surgeons ideas on innovative extremity products.
Q: What products will you be featuring at BOA?
A: The Mediracer® carpal tunnel diagnosis device, which offers rapid, accurate & cost effective diagnosis of this common condition & the Medical Vision Double pump® and tubing sets will be featured, with our hand & foot surgery products also available. Please come & see us on stand 321.
