Vancogenx: Winning Synergy

Antimicrobial resistance is a major current problem and surgeons are faced by this battle on a daily basis.

After years of research and study, Tecres has developed a bone cement (Vancogenx) and a range of bone cement spacers (Vancogenx-Space) now including the most effective antibiotic combination: Gentamicin and Vancomycin.

The Vancogenx line is an additional tool in the hands of orthopaedic surgeons in the treatment of orthopaedic infections.

Vancogenx bone cement has special characteristics which makes it ideal both for syringe and manual use, indicated for fixation of cement spacers and revision prostheses following septic processes.

Vancogenx-Space (hip and knee) means that the two-stage revision procedure can be tackled with a higher probability of success and is particularly indicated when the pathogen is resistant (MRSA, MRSE) or difficult to eradicate (CoNS, Enterococci, Streptococci). The use of Vancogenx-Space is also useful when the pathogen has not been isolated pre-operatively.

Once again, Tecres keeps ahead of the times with innovative and unique products for the orthopaedic world!
